Beautiful, but this one actually started out backward. The frame was from my dear friend, Deborah Flowers, who passed away a few years ago. I loved it! So, I cut a piece of hardboard to fit it because it was not a standard size. I wanted to paint something that would go well in the frame. I do not enjoy this backward procedure, as I normally make frames to enhance and set off the art after the painting is complete. But I took the challenge because I so wanted to use Deb's ornate frame for one of my pieces. I played with several ideas that might flow with this frame and changed the background a few times. Another close friend of mine sent me some costume jewelry that reminded me of my grandmother. I used those gemstones in the center of the larger flowers and added beads to the smaller ones in the background. I usually can't get happy with paintings that I create for a specific frames and they remain unfinished. But this one turned out amazing. I love this little piece. ~ Original Art ~ Mixed Media on Hardboard ~ 5 x 5 inches ~ Elaborate Custom Frame ~ Not Available Click on an image to see these related posts:

AuthorI'm originally from Montana, but moved extensively while growing up. I've had great adventures in the Rockies, the Pacific Islands, and now Florida! I began drawing and painting when I was 12. I started selling my work when I was 17. I began teaching art at 21, and 40 years later I still love it. |
